Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known as Ashanti was born October 13 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer and songwriter. Ashanti began her professional career when she was a teenager and was eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. That same year, she also in the Fat Joe's What's Luv? song as well as Ja Rule's Always on Time track, both of which turned into huge smashes. The first ever female to make it into the highest two spots within the United States, with Foolish at number one, and What's Luv? The song is called What's Luv!
